Your data

Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 1, 2026

The short version: your golf data — rounds, practice sessions, course notes — lives on your device, not on our servers. Puttsy has no accounts, shows no ads, and does not track you across other apps or websites. We collect only anonymous, minimal data to run purchases and fix bugs.

1. Your golf data stays on your device

Every round you log, every practice session, every course note and every report Puttsy builds is stored locally on your phone in the app's own database. It is never uploaded to us — we have no server that could receive it. Deleting the app deletes it (unless your device's own iCloud backup restores it; that backup belongs to you and Apple, not to us).

2. Data we collect and why

Puttsy collects a small amount of anonymous data, none of it linked to your identity:

Anonymous user ID
A random identifier generated on your device. It carries no name, email or account, because Puttsy has none of those.
Purchase history
Your purchase is processed by Apple and validated via RevenueCat against that anonymous ID, so your subscription works and can be restored. We never see your payment details.
Product interaction analytics
Anonymous usage events (screens viewed, features used) via PostHog, hosted in the EU. This tells us which parts of the app are used and which are ignored. Your scores, putts and notes are not part of these events.
Crash & performance diagnostics
Via Sentry, hosted in Germany, so we can fix bugs and slowness.

3. What we never do

  • We never sell your data.
  • We never show you ads, and no advertising SDK is in the app.
  • We never track you across other companies' apps or websites — the app requests no tracking permission because it does none.
  • We never link any of the data above to your identity. We couldn't if we wanted to: there is no account.

4. Your rights (GDPR & CCPA)

Analytics and crash data are processed in the EU (PostHog) and Germany (Sentry). If you are in the EU/UK you have rights under the GDPR, and California residents have rights under the CCPA. Because the data is anonymous we usually cannot identify which records are yours, but email [email protected] and we will do everything we can — including deleting the analytics data associated with your anonymous ID if you send it to us (visible in the app's settings).

5. Retention and security

Analytics and purchase records are kept only as long as needed for the purposes above. Purchase validation runs on providers with US infrastructure under standard contractual safeguards. We apply industry-standard technical measures, though no system can guarantee absolute security.

6. Children

Puttsy is not directed at children under 13 and collects no personal information from anyone.

7. Changes

If this policy changes in any material way, we'll say so in the app before the change applies.
